Beef Stew
Ingredients: 2-4 pounds beef stew meat
1/2 cup flour
salt and pepper
3 cups beef broth
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. Kitchen Bouquet
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 bay leaves
2 cups chopped potatoes
1 onion, chopped
1 cup sliced celery
1 cup sliced carrots
Dumplings (optional):
2 1/2 cups Bisquick mix
2/3 cup milk
Preparation: Sprinkle flour, salt and pepper over meat. Coat meat cubes with flour mixture. Brown meat in skillet over medium heat, about 4 minutes.
Place meat in slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients, stir well. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours.
For dumplings turn slow cooker to high. Mix up a bowl of Bisquick with milk to make drop biscuits. Dollop little spoonfuls around the top of the pot, put the lid on and set the timer for 10 minutes.
