Lasagna
Ingredients: Meat Mixture:
1 lb Italian sausage
1 Tbsp oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 Tbsp parsley flakes
1 Tbsp sweet basil
1/2 Tbsp oregano
2 tsp salt
1 qt tomatoes
12 oz tomato paste
Cheese Mixture:
24 oz cottage cheese
3 eggs, beaten
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 Tbsp parsley flakes
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1 lb mozzarella, sliced
12 oz pkg wide lasagna noodles
Preparation: Meat Mixture: Brown Italian sausage in 1 Tbsp oil. Add garlic, parsley flakes, sweet basil, oregano, salt, tomatoes & tomato paste. Simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Cheese Mixture: Combine cottage cheese, eggs, salt, pepper, 2 Tbsp parsley flakes & parmesan cheese.
Noodles: Cook in boiling salted water until tender. Drain & rinse in cold water.
In large baking dish layer: noodles, 1/2 cheese mixture, 1/2 sliced cheese, all meat mixture, noodles, cheese mixture, sliced cheese.
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes, covered with foil. Remove foil & brown before serving.
Can also cook in crock pot about 4 hours on low. Use no-bake lasagna noodles.
