Garlic Butter Bath Biscuits

Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 cups self-rising flour
¾ tsp. kosher salt
2½ cups buttermilk

Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 450°F.

Melt the butter in a small skillet, stir in garlic. Turn off the heat and set aside.

In a large bowl, stir together flour and salt. Add buttermilk, stirring as you go until everything is incorporated. Note that the batter is very sticky.

Pour the butter into a 3-quart baking dish and scrape the biscuit dough in. Gently push the dough out to the edges. Flour the blade of a bench scraper or spatula and score evenly spaced lines vertically and horizontally to create 9 biscuits. Bake the biscuits until the top is very golden, 28 to 30 minutes. Serve warm.
